KDU's 'Maiden' Match

The newly revamped football club of KDU college must have had their efforts rewarded on Sunday the 10th of April, 2005 at 9am in the morning when they held some football club in Putra Jaya to an 8-2 win in a friendly tangle This is the kind of score line you hear in an NBA tango but it occured in football as well. For the KDU football team which is always at the receiving end of the blow, this must have been a tale-to-tell. The Coach, Mr. Allen and the manager, Mr. Moses both lecturers must have been taken aback by this unenvisaged victory as their aim in organising this series of friendlies every weekend is to put the seemingly weak team in good shape for the upcoming MAPCU tournament later in the month. Losses were expected as the reason for the friendlies is fitness and endurance.
The game played in the football field of Sekolah Sri KDU was one to be looked forward to as it is the maiden match of the Club after a period of disengagement and boresome trainings since January this year. This was not to hold as after six(6) goals, it must have become boring to the fans who are not very used to having Basketball score lines in football Score Boards. This victory may be credited to various reasons - The enthusiasm of the newly formed team vying for shirts or, home support of the KDU team fans who were out to prove the Coaches wrong.
The 'new' team is out with a new spirit. A lot of investment has been put in by the management and the players and they don't expect to settle for less this season. With an array of local cum foreign students making up the team, lets keep our fingers crossed and see how far the will go in upcoming tournaments....or has the jinx been broken?
